Acupuncture CEUs Hours The Illinois Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine is an approved CEU sponsor providing high quality continuing education classes for the Midwest Region. The Continuing Education Requirements for Illinois Acupuncturists are as follows: Beginning with license renewal in 2005, Illinois acupuncturists will be required to complete thirty (30) hours of continuing education credits relevant to the practice of acupuncture. Herb courses do not count towards the 30 hours. The following may be among the 30 hours: A maximum of five (5) hours of self-study (including online) offered by an approved sponsor; each self-study course must include an examination.
